The Martin/Porcupine Project

I told Martin that if he got his room painted and wall papered before he left for 2 weeks with his dad, Hunter and I would get the carpet done while he was gone. (now we just have to hold up our end of the bargain!) First Martin put sheet rock mud on the one wall that is all cement. The previous owners had glued carpet (totally 70's) to the cement wall. We tore the carpet off and then Martin spread sheet rock mud on it, let it dry and sanded it down. It ended up with a nice finish.
Then he primered the whole room. (The other three walls are paneling... joy!)

It looks like Martin recruited some help in painting the ceiling white. Good job Penguin and Monkey!
Martin and I wall papered maps to 2 of the walls. We also painted the other two walls blue. Zookeeper went a little crazy and graffitied his bedroom. It was fine until we put a map over the words and you could read it through the map, Martin wasn't too happy about that. He decided to paint white over my graffiti and that fixed the problem. See a post below for the almost finished wall papering product.
