Makin' Strawberry Jam

For FHE on Monday night Zookeeper taught the critters how to make freezer jam.
Top the berries..... then ...

Smash those babies! (Do you like Bee's new blue cast? Cast #3... third times a charm, right?)

Stir in lots, and lots, and lots and LOTS of sugar and some pectin. I liked Sure Jell's CERTO premium liquid fruit pectin the best, and it was the most inexpensive too! You buy 2 in a box for around $1.62. The other pectins were around $1 each. This product set up the best, even our raspberry jam that I made later is nice and thick.. no runny PBJ's for us! This pectin used 1/2 cup less sugar than the others as well... hey, every little bit helps!

Of course we had to eat some on soft white bread with peanut butter. Boy was it good! It always feels good to fill up your freezer with something delicious too!

PBR... PRO Bull RODEO!!!

Every year (except last year because Sawyer was barely born...) we go to the PBR with Ivy and Travis and their families. As always, the Idaho Center was Rockin' with bull ridin'! It was a (late) very fun evening out with good friends.
Shandra, Travis and Cassie came down from White Bird. It was so great seeing them... but we missed seeing Trace!

Darin, Ivy, Ivy's Mom and Step dad. Ivy always makes sure we all get tickets together. We also have a yummy dinner at her house before the PBR.

Flint, the clown is part of what makes the PBR so entertaining. Here is is dancing with Hannah Idaho (Hannah Montana... Hannah Idaho... get it?). One funny thing he did was "shot put" a giant potato that he found in the dirt in the arena... only in Idaho!.

Sawyer discovered Sierra Mist and drank almost all of it! He also liked the cinnamon nuts...yum! Gotta love Idaho Center Food!

Conference Weekend

Don't you just love Conference Weekend? It is the only time, twice a year that I sleep in as long as I can, wear my PJ's all day and lie around the house all day. The kids love playing Conference BINGO and eating almost as much candy as they can stand. I usually scrapbook while I listen to the inspiring and uplifting talks. I especially loved Sunday Afternoons talks this year.
